About TandemEDU

The average high school student, whether private, public or home schooled, typically spends 6-8 hours each day juggling 6 different courses over 9 months. At the end of four arduous years, this teenager is one of 3.3 million students with little more than a high school diploma to show for countless hours of work. Imagine this same student taking 3 courses per quarter throughout 4 years of high school and earning high school diploma, college credit, even a college degree! That’s how TandemEDU is reimagining high school for home school families.

High School At Home

Many home school families find it easy to home school the early elementary grades, however, find middle school more challenging and high school intimidating. Teaching Chemistry, Literature and Calculus can be intimidating to many home school parents. Parents are faced with making the decision to continue on their own, enroll in public school or seek help during the high school years. TandemEDU and Toccoa Falls College take the stress out of home schooling high school by teaching upper-level science, math and English courses so you and your student can relax and enjoy the teen years.

Georgia Dual Enrollment

Recent Georgia legislation now makes dual enrollment–completing high school and college courses simultaneously–extremely attractive for home school families. Under the statewide program, homeschool students can attend the college of their choice without paying for tuition, books or college fees. Many parents are reluctant to enroll their teen in college courses even with the benefits of dual enrollment. Hesitation revolves around fears such as my student is not prepared, my student is a poor time manager or my student will be exposed to campus culture. TandemEDU combats these fears by organizing weekly dual enrollment classes in the high school classroom and providing college course facilitators for every dual enrolled course. TandemEDU allows Georgia home school students to take full advantage of the Georgia Dual Enrollment program while earning a high school diploma and a college degree.
