TandemEDU Degree Plans

Teens need a strong community during their high school years. TandemEDU provides this community in a Christian setting during weekly high school classes and college courses. High school classes are taught on campus one day a week; following weekly instruction; students are sent home with a DVD and assignments for the remainder of the week. College courses are taught online through Toccoa Falls College. Dual-enrolled classes meet on campus weekly with a facilitator who holds the teens accountable and ensures teens stay on track with all assignments, tests, lectures, etc. Facilitators encourage students, assist with technology, and monitor grades.

Students who complete the TandemEDU AA degree plan will earn 26 high school credits and 60 college credits–enough for both a high school diploma and an Associate of Arts Degree. Compare the TandemEDU degree plans.

For teens who prefer a less rigorous program, we offer a College Prep degree plan. High School degree plan. Our College Prep track prepares students to transition into a four-year university with a strong core curriculum that offers three semesters of college credit. Compare the TandemEDU degree plans.

Through our Career Explorations track, students can explore anything from computers to construction, healthcare to horticulture, or electrician to esthetician; up to six classes to find just the right career path. Compare the TandemEDU degree plans.

Tier 1 Degree Plan

TandemEDU students are building a strong foundation in English, math, and Bible, the skills necessary for college, career and life. The first year starts with high school classes then slowly moves into basic college courses. The first college course, World Geography, has historically been extremely successful for high school students. TandemEDU students average 95% or higher in World Geography, their first college class. Tier 2 Degree Plan

During the T2 year students continue to build on the essential skills of writing and math. College prep continues with an American Literature CLEP prep and Chemistry Lab.  The math sequence continues with Algebra II, offering prep for college algebra and standardized test math. Students continue in two college classes, American History and College English, which are designed to build the solid communication and critical thinking skills necessary for lifetime success. View the degree plan for students who begin TandemEDU in Tier 2.

TandemEDU Benefits

Recent studies continue to document that students who took dual enrollment courses in high school were more likely to graduate from high school and enroll in a four year college. Three years after high school graduation, students who participate in dual enrollment courses during high school earn higher college GPAs and more college credits than their peers. TandemEDU offers teens a solid start at experiencing college early while still under the watchful eye of parents, teachers and facilitators.
